I bought this unit to run my personal PC along with my work laptop using the same peripherals. It does for me. I get 60Hz @ 4K as advertised on a Samsung monitor. I'm using HDMI audio and it changes with the device as expected. My work laptop is an HP ProBook 650 G8 and it's a bit finicky, but it was finicky with the built in HDMI port when I plugged the monitor directly into the laptop and the behavior is about the same. I don't blame KVM for that. My desktop PC with Nvidia graphics works great. I've used many KVMs over the years and they may or may not be successful. This one seems to be a hit for the money. My only real complaint is that I wish it supported the traditional scroll lock switch. Doesn't seem to support hotkey switching at all. Another very minor thing: I wish the USB ports were on the back to save some desk space.
