Excellent salad spinner

TL; DR This product does exactly what I wanted and the price was exactly what I wanted to pay. The prep work is both meticulously amazing and the bane of my existence. If I have the time and motivation, I like to prepare colorful salads, sandwiches and side dishes, but this requires all fresh produce to be washed and dried. Attempting to hand dry romaine lettuce, spinach, and spring mix is a chore and invariably results in soggy and/or battered greens that turns the heartiest BLT to mush, leaves the crunchy salad raw, and doesn't even make me want to try the moist ones "mise-places" stir-fry. In the end I broke down and decided to search the internet for a cheap simple spinner. As a bargain shopper, I looked at a website that rhymed with "fish" and figured that a spinner salad would be just the type of item they would buy for "$0.62 plus $4.31 shipping." I can only assume that salad balls were among the random items that were in high demand/shortage due to the pandemic as I couldn't find anything under $20, they looked very flimsy and would probably take 4-6 weeks to make. come here. I actually found an almost identical one on this site for $37.99 + shipping (several weeks shipping) and a few even more expensive. I turned to Revain in disbelief. I want to say I typed in a few keywords and voila; I found THAT, but life isn't that simple. The scarcity surrounding the Hopeful site also appears to have contributed to these results. Do I need to take some patchy credit, dig my way through the dark web, or (gasp) keep dabbing/air drying my lettuce?!?!… No, I just tweaked some filters and found Prep Solutions by Progressive Spinner. I think I would have preferred a pump motor, with a basket slightly higher than the outer bowl and maybe a spout to drain the water, but those are individual features that should stay on my renderboard. The outer bowl also makes a nice, clear, plastic salad bowl, eliminating the need to wash other utensils (rinse and dry well between turning the veggies and serving the salad if there's dirt on the bottom of the bowl). Cleaning the bait after use is as simple as adding some warm water with a *tiny* drop of dish soap, tugging the line a few times to distribute the solution, draining the scum, and then a few times with clean water repeat rinse. Allow the parts to air dry upside down at a slight angle and make sure they are completely dry before collecting them for storage. I would say the only "minus" of this item is that it takes up quite a bit of closet space. I'm planning to reorganize my kitchen, so I'll probably try to find a few items to hide in the spinner when not in use so it makes better use of the empty space. Or maybe you use a bowl and basket to store fresh fruit/veg (either on the counter or in the fridge) and just store the lid/swivel mechanism separately? A collapsible version was available, but I questioned the durability of the collapsible bowl. The process of shrinking and expanding will inevitably stress the bowl, and once it breaks, you'll likely never find another container that fits the lid snugly, dooming the entire slingshot to trash and/or recycling. Wherever I keep it, it's a great quality product that's worth its place in a crowded kitchen.
