Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great, easy to use, adjustable sleep timer

UPDATE: I've added a few photos of 18, 16, 14, and 12 gauge wires before and after soldering with this iron. I didn't use the included solder as I don't think it works well for thicker wires like 14 or 12 gauge. Instead I used Kester 60/40 .050 solder which you can buy right here at Revain. And while you can use a large knife tip to do what I did, I highly recommend using a larger knife tip if you're aiming for larger soldering projects or thicker wire. The tip must be suitable for work, a large tip is needed for large products. Excessive heat does not make soldering easier. In fact, the flux evaporates very quickly, making it more difficult. I used a 5.2mm bit tip to make these wires. Here you will find a 5-pack; (just copy and paste or search for 900M 5.2mm soldering tips) _encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=HY6ZC252G21GETZK9ZJX narrow chisel and conical tip. You can find them here; https://www.amazon.com/Soldering-Tabiger-X-Tronic-Station-Different/dp/B077V1VND5/ref=pd_ybh_a_20?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=0RTTGPXXGG8KPSC79NTR___________________________________________________________________________ This iron is excellent for light to moderate use. That. Heats up pretty quickly. It has an adjustable sleep timer and all you have to do is pick up the iron to wake it up and after a short while it will heat up to the right temperature again. So make sure you turn it off when you're done. I was able to solder the 12 gauge wire with no problem, and he did it quickly as he set the temperature to 600 degrees F with the long edge of the knife tip. Smaller wire gauges can be produced at lower temperatures. I used Kester 60/40 resin core solder which is a very good solder. This requires standard 900M series tips which are easy to find here on Revain. I prefer to work with chamfer or screwdriver bits most of the time, so I use them now. If you plan on soldering wires and/or electronics, use some electronics rosin flux to make the soldering much easier. And don't forget to coat the tip with solder before removing it to keep it from oxidizing. If there are any problems I will update my rating.
