I've looked at dozens of case reviews online and the Evolv X caught my eye. The last three computer builds have been assembled in Antec cases, but the current Antec range doesn't meet my needs. Like the more expensive Antec cases I've used in the past, this Evolv X isn't cheap, but it's made of durable and tempered glass on both sides, it's just beautiful. Speaking of glass doors, I couldn't help but mention the number of reviewers who have received their cases either used or broken (or both). Although I was concerned I bought it through Revain knowing that they were very proactive in resolving issues. My suitcase arrived still factory sealed and when I opened the box everything inside was perfect. In fact, the factory packaging is so strong that you have to work hard to damage the case inside. The first thing I noticed when assembling the system were the small parts that Phanteks supplied to make the computer easier to assemble. A bayed case that houses screws and hardware is a good example, but if you watch YouTube videos of this case you can see how well this case is designed for builders and users. Cable management is very easy, the glass doors are easy to remove and reinstall, the front panel detaches to reveal the magnetic inlet dust filter, and the list goes on. The only consideration is the power supply. It is mounted in the covered "basement" of the case, and under it is the outlet of the fan with a filter. The PSU I chose had the fan mounted on top and blocked by the case base. The power supply works fine upside down, but the OLED display on the power supply is no longer visible. As you can see from the photos, the case is just as well designed as the photos. Cable management is easy. Phanteks offers three 140mm fans, two in the front and one in the back. I added two extra 140mm fans on top to get good airflow. System: ASUS ROG Maximus XI Extreme motherboard Intel I9-9900K CPU cooler CPU Noctua PC-U12A64GB RAMASUS Thor 1200 PSUASUS RTX 2060 GPU (vertically mounted with optional Phanteks chassis mount) 2 x 2 TB NVME m.2 in motherboard slots 2 x 2TB NVME in two PCIe adapters (using the DIMM.2 slot on the motherboard would reduce the number of channels supporting the GPU) configured in RAID 14 x 1TB SSD in RAID 10 The airflow into the chassis in combination with the Noctua CPU air cooler is more than enough to overclock the I9 chip. I ran 5GHz with stress test tools and the CPU temperature never reached 70 degrees Celsius. While I don't have time to play, this setup is designed for video and photo editing, and I can now render shorter video clips in Premiere Pro in under 10 seconds, versus over a minute on my previous system. I have replaced each of my Antec cases with each new build. I think I'll be using this case again in the future, unless Phanteks (or someone else) comes up with something even better!
