This machine is actually a replacement for an almost identical model that was giving low ink messages even though the original cartridge contained a lot of ink Brother cartridges. Eventually the old printer stopped printing altogether, but now it's printing normally despite the warning messages. I bought this printer as a backup because Brother seems to be discontinuing all printers that use these cartridges. A previous printer worked fine, connected via USB to a Windows laptop and also connected via Google Cloud to use a Chromebook. It all works great and is pretty easy to set up.
