This is a fantastic scanning solution for the small office. We bought Brother because we have a very expensive Xerox copier that we use for scanning but it breaks down so we need a backup. After a few weeks of using Brother, nobody in the office uses Xerox anymore, except for large scans. Brother became the main scanner and everyone in the office gave it positive feedback. It works great. I've only seen it get stuck once, and that was because someone hadn't removed the staple from the document. The document feeder is only supposed to hold 50 sheets, but that seems very conservative. People filled it much bigger and there were no disturbances. It's as fast as the giant Xerox and much faster than most multifunction scanners. I found the setup incredibly easy and intuitive, but I work on computers. However, I find many of these products to be limited in terms of compatibility and terribly unintuitive in terms of setup and user experience. Xerox was a network scanning nightmare. We have another Brother MFC in our office and it was very difficult to add it to our network as it had very limited networking capabilities and the user had to navigate through 6 screens before being able to scan. One of the best features of this device is the 3 programmable buttons on the front of the scanner. I set up the first button for color documents, the second button for black and white documents, and the third button for reduced-size black and white scan files. All the user has to do to scan a document is insert the paper and press one of the buttons. Everything, 1 button and the document is scanned and uploaded to our server. Please note that you need a server or NAS to use this scanner. If you don't use the network, you're probably better off getting the cheaper non-network Fujitsu. I use a Fujitsu ScanSnap at home and it's great, but only for one user. The only downside some offices may have is that they require more than 3 presets. Many offices like to have a button for each employee that leads to the server's personal folder. For us this was not a requirement. We only have a dozen people in the office so a network share with 3 presets works great.
