Review on πŸ”§ GEARWRENCH 3/8" Drive Flex Head Micrometer Torque Wrench - 5-75 ft/lbs (Model: 85086) by Wesley Carreras

Calibration certificate and good torque range.

The most important thing in a torque wrench is accuracy. This torque wrench comes with a calibration certificate and I trust the gear wrench. The next thing that matters to me is the torque range. I have a Honda Accord and the aluminum engine parts are attached to the underside, starting at 7 ft lbs. The spark plugs are reinforced to 13 ft-lbs. Torque for most engines, suspensions and brakes is less than 75 ft-lbs. In fact, this wrench (5-75 ft.lbs) covers 90 percent of small and light truck repairs. One of the most common tasks in auto repair is removing and installing wheels. Honda's lug nut specification calls for 80 ft-lbf of torque, which is slightly out of range for this torque wrench. I probably tighten the nuts to 75 foot-lbs and then turn them another 10 or 15 degrees. The bolts required to replace the brake pads require less than 75 ft-lbs. If I need to replace the rotors, I need to remove and install the caliper mounting bolts, which require them to be torqued to 80 ft-lbs. Again, this is a bit out of the range for this torque wrench. If you can't afford to buy multiple torque wrenches, you should definitely get this one.
