Despite what it says this is really not a "night vision" monocular. It does not work in the infrared range. But I didn't expect that for this price. Overall it has decent build quality - not fantastic, but useful. The optics are fine, but there's a slight graying/blurriness, so if I'm looking for small details from a distance, like trying to see if a small bird in a treetop has wing bars or an eyebrow, it might do the job not quite grown. It takes in an average amount of light and is able to provide the detail I need on a very sunny, clear day. I mainly use it for a quick scan to see if there are any birds or animals I want to focus on. Once I determine there is a creature to see, I use my regular binoculars to get a good, clear view. So this monocular is good for scanning the environment and is definitely good enough for spotting large animals like deer or coyotes walking around. If the birds are big enough or close enough, it even offers enough detail and clarity to identify them, although on cloudy days or in the evening this can be questionable. Overall this is a decent monocular for the price.
