When I first turned it on the motor was making an annoying low frequency hum that got louder as the speed increased. The sound was the same regardless of the direction of the blade. Also, the installation instructions are wrong (p. 7). When attempting to attach the light block, one of the latch holes was completely blocked by the controller block, which was held in place with double sided tape. See 2 photos; one is hand drawn and the other is real. There are only 3 mounting screws so the only option was to gently pry the controller box away from the side panel to access the keyhole slot.
