Review on 🔊 Denon AVR-X3700H 8K Ultra HD 9.2 Channel (105W X 9) AV Receiver 2020 Model - 3D Audio & Video with IMAX Enhanced, Optimized for Gaming, Music Streaming, Alexa + HEOS by Lori Fleurosier

I was looking to replace a roughly 10 year old Marantz so I could use my Atmos speakers and didn't want to break the bank. Online reviewers love this x3700h so I decided to give it a try. The first unit I ordered seemed great and sounded powerful, but I found the music didn't sound as good as it did on my old Marantz SR6007. I was happy until it started going into protection mode. Sent it back and got a replacement. The x3700h replacement appears to be quite different. The sound is different from the first, softer and not as powerful even after the same calibrations. It also randomly turned off Wi-Fi and made random pops and crackles from the speakers when using an HDMI source. I sent it back and got my old receiver back which still works great. I have had Denons with HDMI errors before and after trying this I will not buy another Denon. Denon and Marantz are both owned by Sound United, but I haven't had any issues with my Marantz units. Maybe I'll try Yamaha. I really wish they would stop cramming the latest 8k, phone apps, streaming and other junk into the receiver and just make something for me that sounds good and lasts.
