I have read all the reviews very carefully. They said these brackets hold up to 70 pounds. I didn't need anything close to it. I mounted the brackets according to the manufacturer's instructions but ended up using stronger screws in the wall. Yes, the part that I fixed to the wall remained perfect. I was so disappointed that the metal bracket is so cheap and poorly made I probably had around £5 on my shelf. My shelf every day. will constantly lean forward. This is because the protruding part of the mount is a very thin piece of metal. I'm shocked he got the reviews he did. This is by far not the first project of this kind that I have done. I ended up returning the brackets even though I painted them and fixed them to the wall. They were still willing to pick her up because of the issues I was having. I give this warning and I rarely do. I am still shocked by such a high rating. Buyer beware
