I wish I had bought the easy grip version of these mats. It was difficult to remove the cut cardboard from the mat without twisting it. This was done AFTER using a dry terry towel to remove the adhesive. or 5 times with a large bath towel. Another idea is to write on the clear cellophane wrapper with a permanent marker so it's easy to see! The brand uses an opaque mat cover that is easier to find. I kept these rugs on the back wall of my closet and hung them on a nail to keep them from wrinkling.
