This is my second pair of chacos and all my kids have them too. I have quite a wide foot and everyone has a narrow foot and we all like it. I've tried wide sizes and they're too big for me, but it's nice that they can accommodate wider feet too! I believe they are true. I wear a 9 in Nike sneakers and the 9 goes perfectly with the chaco. I love the wider leg strap in this style and the big metal buckle! I wish they all had metal buckles instead of plastic buckles. They are super durable and comfortable to wear for a long time. Because it's a full-length strap that's adjustable in all places (except the rear-most strap on the left and right side of the ankle), the fit is fully customizable along the length of the foot. If the straps are hard to move after wearing I prefer to wash mine and then you put a drop or two of fabric softener in the strap holes and pull the trap back and forth and it loosens any sand particles inside and leaves the straps too easy to adjust. Arch is very supportive. I have high arches and sometimes socks that are too long can bother me a little, so I think this is a dream come true for people with very high arches.
