The inside is very soft, the patterns on the outside look a little rough but I don't mind as they don't touch the baby. It was a great price compared to other brands and they work well for what I need. The size fits my newborn well, he was 6lb 15oz at birth, he is now 7 weeks old and weighs over 10lb and still has room to grow before we need a bigger size. The seating is nice and comfortable. My boy tries to get his arms out of every brand, this one works best because he's tall and skinny so I can hug him tighter than other brands I've tried. Highly recommend for skinny newborns!
