Review on NIUGUY 350W Switching Power Supply: Universal Regulated Transformer for LED Strip Light, CCTV, Radio, Computer Projects - 110-240VAC to DC12V 30A by Todd Mohr

Was looking for a power supply for dual band UHF radios. Reviews looked good for this unit compared to others, and I bought it to see if it would be quiet enough to handle load regulation. The device is well built from thick aluminum. Unfortunately, upon unpacking, it smelled of burnt electronics. As an electronics engineer, I decided to test the device. Confirmed setting for 115V and applied input power. There is no way out at all. It seemed like this device was a throwback as the box ended up being open. Except for the two output screws, all screws are tight. Maybe someone connected 115V to the output and fried it. DOA was unacceptable, especially with the smell of burning. Came back for a refund and switched to commercial supplies for the 3 supplies I need (triple the price).
