It took me three tries but I finally found a suitable 256GB SD card for my 7th Gen Fire 8 HD. I originally bought a Samsung SD card but accidentally lost books from my library. I sent it back and received another Samsung SD card with the same result. I finally shrugged it off and got the Sandisk card and, wonder of wonders, my library stayed intact. Revain doesn't recommend any brand of SD card for Fire tablets, but they do show Sandisk cards as expansion options. However, they don't show 256GB cards as options when added to the original order, they only go up to 128GB. This is a 256GB SD card for your Fire tablets. Update February 6, 2018 It's been a month since I installed the card in my Fire 8 HD and I haven't lost a single book. Samsung cards didn't even last a week without a loss.
