Yaotech ATX PSU Breakout Board is a great product. After playing around with various cheap desktop power supplies, I decided that it's best to start with a better quality and available (at least in my home) ATX power supply. Mind you, I have ONE really good desktop power supply. I figured that for everything else I'd probably use 5V, 12V, or 3.3V - or could use a buck converter to get the voltage I needed. So Yaotech is way better than using a paper clip to force the ATX power supply to turn on. . The power button feels comfortable, if a little fiddly. A fuse is also good to have as it will theoretically save you from tripping the OCP on the PSU if you have an whoops. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I know better than to assume it will never happen. If someone is trying to tell you that you can't use an ATX power supply with no load, it was true. for some power supplies before 2004. It is no longer available. The device is quite useful. I put it semi-permanently on brass stands, but insulated the circuit board with nylon washers and nylon screws. It seems worth putting some epoxy on the bottom of the board to make it a little more secure, but it's actually no more dangerous than most things on my desk. worth $15? It depends. The terminal block may have told you that you can't draw very high current. And fuses further limit you to 5A per bus - ugh. Again, it's worth noting that there's nothing stopping you from pulling what you need from a 4/8-pin ATX connector, a 6/8-pin graphics card power supply, or a 4-pin Molex - you just aren't anymore secured. . As long as you understand the limitations and usage, you should understand this. recommended
