I've never heard of or used Miswak but saw a video recommending it for general dental care. (Now I'm in a total "need to fix my teeth" phase.) I LOVE the little straw and piece of cloth because I first bought a miswak to use in the car after I've had coffee or snacks and drove across town to work. I wanted something that would help activate my saliva and clean my teeth since I can't brush my teeth in the car haha. And it's easy to pack away so it doesn't roll around in the glove box and pick up dirt. This is the first one I've tried but it seems like a great product. The packaging is great. Once soaked, the strong odor becomes more pleasant, and if you can get rid of it, it will take on an "artichoke" smell after about a day. That's how I would describe it! It's actually very calming. I really like the feel of "bristles" and the chewing suits my doggy side ;) I also like to suck on it after rubbing it in my mouth. (So for those obsessed with speaking, this is a win-win.) I feel like my teeth are getting clean and smooth! I haven't noticed any major improvement other than this since I've only been using it for about a week and a half. So I can't comment on whitening or long-term benefits. But it's just a pleasure to use and it does a great job of changing your toothbrush on the go, which is good enough for me. One thing I don't like is that sometimes little bits of bark come off and I have to spit it out. they or maybe end up swallowing some. It doesn't matter, and just a few small bits from time to time. Maybe just "the way of the miswak", but that's why 4 stars instead of 5. Or maybe I'm being too rude! I do not know. But hey, it's natural, so bits of bark are better than plastic, right? Try it! It's natural, fun, and leaves your teeth looking smooth. I also have recessive gums and feel soft enough to use so I'm not worried about it getting worse.
