This unit replaces a Haier model I had for years but was lost in a catastrophic zucchini explosion. Living on the west coast, I was looking forward to seeing this blast furnace slowly spread across the country. This unit has 100W more power than my previous unit but seems to heat up exponentially faster. I'm still getting used to it. It's also difficult (and important) to balance the platter in the right spot. The various power settings don't snap, and the indicator on the dial is hard to see, making it hard to tell if it's set to the highest or lowest setting. For some reason I don't understand, it's hard to find something this simple, compact, so I'm glad I found it! When I'm spending the night at a friend's house, I'm usually woken up by a cacophony of microwave noise. Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, etc. I think it takes fewer button presses to launch an ICBM than it does to heat my friend's tea! One last thing, when I first unpacked the thing, it really stunk. It smelled like someone had just sprayed a FEMA trailer with mosquito repellent and then tried to mask the smell with glue, hairspray, and cat pee. I have never had such an unpleasant smell from household appliances. Luckily after a few weeks the smell was about 75% gone. Good luck with the microwave!
