Review on 24-Inch Minuteman International Fireplace Pot Hanger Bracket in Black - Crane by Trisha Green

Cook in colonial style in your fireplace at home

Very cool vintage accessory for your fireplace. The two anchors provided are rubbish - do not use. Go to the store and buy lead anchors for the top two and then only use screws for the bottom two. The top two (actually the top one) will carry the pull of the pot you're hanging from the hook, while the bottom two are just there to keep the strut upright (low shear stress). Just use screws for them. Hang it as high as you can, leaving a gap to rotate it on the outside of the doors if you have any. Then buy a nice old Griswold Dutch Oven on eBay ($50-90) and S-hook to vary the distance to the coals. The base is designed so that you can remove the faucet when not in use, but with the help of the top screw. installed you may need to cut 1/4" from the bottom pin to allow it to be removed/installed. All in all a good product.
