I really like this timer. I've had it for about a month and use it about once a day. I originally used it for my kids so they could see how much time they had left for classes etc. I know it's hanging on my fridge and I use it to quickly determine cooking times. In the past few weeks he has survived several falls and throws and continues to work. Sometimes it keeps ticking (quietly) for a few seconds after the time sounds, just like cheaper egg timers sometimes do. This is noticeable and does not affect the actual operation of the timer. It is easy to use for both adults and children. I like that the timer goes in the same direction as the analog clock. You'll notice that many of the visual timers run counter-clockwise. I'd say if you're using this for kids, go with the one that moves clockwise.
