I was very happy to find this - a true sine wave inverter in the 2200w range. Just a few years ago this would have been a $500-$600 inverter. The only issue I had was with the power meter: I used a 100w incandescent bulb to see if it worked. The Giandel customer service staff quickly contacted me and showed me that it takes a little over 100 watts to get a reliable reading, and after that the reading is normal. software problem? The output is single ended (120v only) and not split 240 phase like you have in your US home. The 1200w fridge and microwave work great. It also has a soft start function when the inverter first starts up, which I really like. If you have a load that won't start due to high inrush current, you can start it with an inverter so it can start without turning off the inverter or stepping the load. Nice feature. I haven't used the solar charge input yet, but the panels I have provide open circuit voltages higher than the maximum allowable, so I'll probably bypass this feature anyway.
