My son is 11 and soon to be 12. He weighs about 95 pounds. This skateboard is great for him. This is the first skateboard he owns. There were cheaper ones out there, but after a little research it seemed to me that a skateboard that was at least 28 inches long, or in this case 31 inches, would be easier to ride. And it seems to be true. He has no learning problems. I'm 6ft 2in, 185lbs and have tried showing him what to do a few times and had no problem either. 8" wide fits 12 feet my height. He's only been using it for about a week, but so far he's found it to be a great skateboard that allows for a relatively smooth ride over concrete.
