Review on πŸ“ž Yealink W56H Bundle: 2 IP DECT VoIP Phone Handsets with HD Voice & Quick Charge by Kenny Sanchez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Make sure your phone's firmware is compatible with your VoIP service provider.

This phone is available with firmware for various VoIP service providers and does not appear in the list at all. I bought 2 handsets from a third party and I can't register them to my W56P base station. At the moment I found that the phones I received have firmware version 61.83.0.90. I could only find this version in the "bsft" directory on the Yealink support page, which I believe means it is a specific Broadsoft VoIP system. Firmware updates for the non-specific version of the phone currently end at 61.83.0.50. I don't know for sure, but I think that's probably why the handset isn't registering to my base. Net result, be careful that the handsets you buy are not designed for a specific VoIP system or have no firmware version. compatible with your VoIP system. Or make sure you test them out before the return period expires. The phones themselves are good phones when they work. The DECT range is good throughout the three-story house with the base station on the top floor. The sound quality via headphones and speakerphone is good. Battery life is great for talk and standby times. The only small catch is that they are not very ergonomic. They're too long and for convenient hands-free use they have an accessory that snaps onto the back, but that accessory interferes with normal use so it's a little clunky. I usually switch to speakerphone when I need my hands free.

Pros
  • Headset connection via 3.5 mm jack plug
