Great pads at a great price

Before deciding to swap out the headlamp assembly for a few hundred bucks (2009 Camry), I decided to sand it down again and this time paint it with clear coat. Last time I tried it I used a conversion kit that only had two pad grit and a hand tool. The nodes were so badly oxidized that it was not safe to drive with only low beams on at night as the plastic was too worn. Using my electric DA with a 3" back-up pad, I started with 800 grit after spending some time sanding them. . I sprayed them with Purple Power to clean them really well and then progressed to 1k grit Between finishes I rinsed and dampened the lens with distilled water. From 1K I went up: 2K, 3K, 5K, 7K, 10K. By the time I reached 10k the lenses looked pretty good. After polishing with a plastic polisher (PlastX) and a polishing pad they really shined. In the photos you can see each side before and after the process that ends with polishing the plastic. The last photo after applying the first thick layer of clear coat. With the same pads I polish the clear coats to the finished product the pads hold up great in all that water I keep DA on low speed Great investment these pads.
