Blueair just ruined my brand loyalty. I bought a second unit and it smelled like chemicals to high heaven. I have never seen my dog leave the room as quickly as when I opened the box with a new device. So I call Blueair in Chicago. The customer's representative says the smell usually goes away after a few days but can last for more than a year. This information prompts me to trade the unit in for another as the irony of the toxic fumes the air purifier emits is too strong for me. Okay, a new one comes up, I start it and the sound is like someone throwing stones at the engine. For real!?!? Come on, is there really no quality control? That's it, no more Blueair!
