Review on Lisle 81200 Plastic Chisel Scraper Set - Versatile and Durable Tool Set for Effective Scraping and Chiseling by Jeff Keegan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for reuse, durable, inexpensive, but there's a catch

Lisle makes some great specialty car tools. My grandfather was a former Seabee Navy mechanic and after World War II he opened and owned his own repair shop from 1948 to 1988 when he died. He had MANY dedicated Lisle instruments and always loved them and compared them to Snap On. The pros and cons of this chisel set are listed below: Pros: Much stronger than Sino's orange chisels which chip and break. Ideal for removing motorcycle registration stickers from bike license plates, inspection and registration stickers from car windshields, paint from wood products, baking. dirt in ovens, dirt on countertops, picking up stubborn dirt from litter boxes, cleaning non-stick and regular cookware and 20 other uses where a spatula, razor blade or regular scraper is too aggressive. 2 years ago I messed up a custom bike license plate with a razor - these chisels fixed that problem. Cons: - My only "cons" for these bits is that the neck of the bit is completely round and they roll like golf balls. Floor. Today I used one on my desktop and it rolled off the table - twice, and last week one rolled under my car. I came up with a "solution" for this problem (see photo). I sanded four "flats" on the neck with a disc sander. The problem is solved. I really like these instruments and they are 4.5 stars with a round neck. With my 30 second "Flat Fix" this is a 5 star tool. Hope that helps!
