Review on πŸ”” Eufy Security Video Doorbell Kit - Battery-Powered, 2K Resolution, 180-Day Battery Life, Encrypted Local Storage, No Monthly Fees, HomeBase with Strong Wi-Fi and Integrated Storage by Jose Guevara

Revainrating 3 out of 5

So far this is the only doorbell with local external storage

I've only had the wired version of the eufy doorbell but still have concerns about storing it in the doorbell where it becomes useless and if lost the doorbell is stolen. I'm not a fan of cloud storage either. Advantages: 1. local external storage where entries are now stored in homebase22. wired integration with existing doorbell, homebase2 can also act as an additional bell. Activate/deactivate beep via eufy app.3. Expandable if you want to add eufycam.4 later. Video and Live Steam resolutions appear to be the same as the wired version. Cons: 1. Much larger compared to the wired version (almost out of the way size), although it is designed to hold a larger battery, the battery size is not as important in its wired setup as it is in a wireless setup.2. Viewing angle (16:9) and field of view (4:3) are significantly smaller than the wired version, you may need to install eufycam to cover the area that the new doorbell no longer covers.3. HDR, distortion correction, video resolution settings etc. are no longer available in the eufy app for the new wired/wireless version. Something needs to be fixed ASAP: 1. Video playback needs to be fixed, it plays in fast forward mode when objects are moving 2x faster. (Doorbell firmware version 2.2.0.5, homebase2 system version 2.0.7.8h, subsystem version 1.3.0.9) Overall the newer wired/wireless version is an improvement in terms of storage, the doorbell itself is disappointing compared to the old wired version. If the old wired version can be integrated with homebase2 then it's worth 5 stars.
