Review on Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras - Lens Only by Adisorn Chuamuangpha ᠌

This is my first macro lens. In this regard, I have nothing to compare it with. I've been using it for 60d for about a year. Macro is amazing. But do not expect that since there is a stabilizer, then a tripod is not needed. The stabilizer is a useful thing, but rather when shooting non-macro scenes. The autofocus speed is a little slower than, say, the 24-70L, but overall it's very fast. In the twilight, it focuses quite confidently and accurately (filmed a concert). It is convenient that there is a switch in the focusing distance. The lens is resistant to external factors - it was shot in a downpour and in a snowstorm, no complaints about work. The focal length allows you to use it as a moderate portrait telephoto lens. The picture, of course, is very sharp. I won’t say that it’s annoying, even in a close-up portrait of a woman, rather the blurring of the background is somewhat peculiar. In conjunction with magnifying lenses, it works confidently, but the minimum focusing distance is naturally less. Bottom line: if you need a macro lens, then in terms of price-quality ratio, the 100mm macro L will more than meet all expectations, very good glass, without obvious flaws, but with a lot of advantages.
