Launched a week ago on 3 local GMRS repeaters, this 8 watt radio has recently been licensed by the FCC. The individual splits and tones for the repeater are easily programmed without a PC cable. Can also be used on the 2M and 70CM ham radio bands and marine VHF channels. Pre-programmed simplex channels for use on GMRS UHF and MURS VHF channels and GMRS repeaters with separation and tones and ease of use. Now we are considering BTECH UV-50X2 for use as base and cellular device for GMRS. The speaker mic switches from channel A to channel B every time I press a button, but works fine in position B. For some reason a short antenna seems better for use in a repeater than a high gain whip antenna. What a good deal for the money overall.
