Despite our best efforts, it took almost a year to train our new dog not to jump on the back door. And as you can see from the first picture he managed to scratch a lot. So I bought this marker kit to fix those scratches. I used "oak", a lighter color, on the scratches. I had to go through them again to fully cover them. This is what you see in the second picture and it took me about 10 minutes total. I bought a set of wax crayons hoping to fill in the scratches but it didn't work. I read in another review that this is possible but takes a lot of work. When I'm not checking for imperfections I no longer notice scratches (and mind you, they're on par), so that's what I wanted. I bought a large package because I scratched white dining room furniture. I tried using a white marker on the chipped area. I put on coat after coat and then tried white chalk. Well, unless you're looking for a chip, at least it's not as obvious, but it didn't fill in with color like I was hoping.
