I solved my need for analog wireless headphone support with Roku

After installing a brand new 40 inch Samsung 4k TV in my bedroom last year, I was a bit disappointed to learn that it didn't have an analogue (red and white RCA) plug for audio output , like all my previous TVs. Some of the newer TVs these days seem to only have an optical output, which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that the TV's speakers spin when you turn it off. So instead of connecting the Sennheiser wireless headphone base unit to the TV with RCA jacks, I had to connect them directly to the cable box's audio outputs. . Now that I had decided to ditch cables entirely, meaning no more cable box, I needed a way to hear my wireless headphones but still be able to output audio through my TV speakers. The device is in play. I simply connect my Roku's HDMI output to the device's HDMI input, connect another HDMI cable from the device's HDMI output to the TV, and then use a 3.5mm audio Y-splitter with it pink and white ends to connect the wireless headphone base unit the audio from the device. Works perfectly! Now I can listen to the show through my headphones and still turn on the TV speakers if I want to. I might not have had to spend extra money to get a "4K" model, but I didn't want to risk the image of my 4K TV. In any case, I'm looking forward to it!
