Important Milligram and Volume Information

These small micro scoops are great for picking up very small amounts of product. Some supplements can be taken by a quarter or an eighth of a teaspoon, but other products are said to use much lower milligram amounts. Without those tiny micro scoops, it would be extremely difficult to scoop the right amount. They are static free so none of my expensive products go to waste and stick to the shovel. Also, since they're static free, I know I'm actually getting the full amount rather than losing the portion that's still stuck to the scoop. IMPORTANT: There have been questions about the actual volume of these scoops. Let's get back to the basic laws of physics. Without going into mass and gravity. Put simply, two equal volumes of different substances do not necessarily have the same weight. Conversely, the same weight of two different substances does not necessarily have the same volume. This is because different substances have different densities even though they may LOOK the same. (This is a very important thing to remember.) If you look at the periodic table of the elements, a teaspoon of sodium and a teaspoon of silver are vastly different in weight. But, for the sake of curiosity, let's assume that we use flour in all three measuring spoons. Six milligrams of flour would equal 0.0012 teaspoons. Twenty milligrams of flour would equal 0.004 teaspoons. Thirty milligrams of flour would equal 0.005 teaspoons. Therefore, when you buy a supplement in bulk, the seller will tell you how much to take, either in teaspoons or mg. If it's not clearly written, be sure to ask for the correct amount before taking the supplement. They can vary widely, and different people may respond differently to the same supplement. When you take a dietary supplement, you are essentially treating yourself, as unfortunately the FDA has not yet done the research needed to determine if the substance requires a prescription. Be very careful to do your own research before taking any supplement so that you know what you are getting into, both in terms of potential benefits and potential risks. (Believe me, I know. I once had a very bad reaction to an over-the-counter supplement.) Also, be sure to tell your doctor that you are taking this supplement. However, keep in mind that most doctors know very little about dietary supplements. I know this is all clear as mud, but no one ever said the laws of physics were easy to understand or remember.
