Speaking about the 60th chamber, I would like to say that it was released to close the hole between the initial class and the semi-professional. The body has been simplified to make the camera understandable to the average user. Speaking frankly, 60d is the same 550th, the only difference is only in the case and a larger working iso. This is probably something in between for those who do not want to take a simple DSLR with a minimum of buttons, but are not ready for something serious (7d, 5d).
I have a Sony a330 camera myself, but after the new year I’m going to switch to this camera, since Sony can’t offer anything like that yet.

Pros

Pretty high working ISO (at 1600 it’s acceptable to shoot, 3200 starts to noticeably make noise), swivel screen (although for some it’s a plus, for some it’s a minus), light weight due to the combined body, solid plastic case, comfortable handle, fast focusing, reasonable price for a camera of this class.
