Review on Tent extreme double Tramp BIKE 2 V2, gray by Mateusz Sobczyk ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The goods are normal, money is not wasted!

I was looking for a tent for climbing Elbrus from the north and further use in cycling trips. Of the requirements were: weight no more than 2.5 kg, compactness, excellent water resistance characteristics of the tent and bottom, the presence of a wind / snow skirt, the price is not more than 10 This tent meets all these requirements) I bought it with a promo code and thank you bonuses for 8500 The first test for the tent was immediately on Elbrus. The weather did not please us very much, there were strong gusts of wind, showers, snow and hail. One day there was an apocalypse with very strong wind and rain. The tent survived, but just in case I sat and propped it up with my back for 2.5 hours A gust of wind knocked her almost to the floor. Also, the wind blew off some of the stones from the skirt, thereby tearing it a little, but not critically. Another of the losses: one upper guy was torn and partially 2 lower ones, into which the arc is attached, put a lot of puffs on the inner tent because of the Velcro on the jacket, several small holes formed at the bottom (I didn’t understand why, perhaps because of what -some heavy things and stones that were under the bottom). With regards to setting up a tent on solid ground. Yes, as mentioned earlier in the reviews, this installation will take more time. But I had such difficulty only in the base camp, where there are only stones. In other cases, despite the fact that the Elbrus region is not famous for its soft soil, the installation took place without difficulty. Someone in the reviews noted that if the question arose again of choosing between a half-barrel and a hemisphere, then he would choose a hemisphere. I agree. The hemisphere is more convenient. But I never found an option where the hemisphere would meet all my requirements. I was ready to overpay 3-5 for a hemisphere with similar characteristics, but they weigh 3 or more kg., And in long hikes, every 100 grams play a role.

Pros
  • - Value for money - quality - my expectations. - Compression bag (NOT a dry bag!). Firstly, the bag itself is very roomy, and secondly, it can still be pulled well. - Dimensions and weight (someone will say that there are options lighter and smaller in volume, but within the price of 10and with the same characteristics, I did not find such). Advice from personal experience - the correct installation and strengthening of the tent is a guarantee that in case of bad weather you will not worry about its safety) therefore, if you use the tent in extreme weather conditions, then securely lay the stones on the skirt and choose stones that are heavier so that they do not blown away)
Cons
  • I wouldn't call it a disadvantage. It's more of an inconvenience. - The tent is ideal for 1 person (all equipment can be placed inside the tent), for two the vestibule is too small, you will either have to constantly shift backpacks and equipment, or somehow place them inside. - Entrance (inconvenient for 2 people, for one - everything is ok). - When the door is open, the corner of the inner tent sticks out (if you climb into the tent for a long time during heavy rain or forget to close the door, then this corner inside the tent will be damp). - Due to the protruding angle, it is inconvenient to close the door, you have to stretch your hand far. - The tent cannot be fully pulled like a string, i. E. the middle part of the upper awning (between the arches) still remains slightly stretched (this is very felt during bad weather, the upper awning constantly sways). - Condensate. In general, the formation of condensate is a completely natural process, there is no need to be afraid of this, it will still happen. But specifically in this tent, because of the mesh, drops form faster inside + during a strong wind, when the top awning hits the inner tent, water does not just drip, it splashes. - If there are Velcro on the clothes, then keep them away from the inner tent, because. they are very easy to cling to the mesh and leave puffs.
