It's a fun little device, but as other reviewers have pointed out, it eats CR2016 cells. This seems like a pretty stupid choice of power supply on the part of the developers. CR2032 is more common and has a lot more juice. Personally, I prefer rechargeable devices, which is why I no longer count SpokeLits. Green is a good safe color and multicolor is very cool (although the color sequence is always the same). Flash mode does help increase runtime, but of course it lowers the "security" factor. Even if you don't use this thing, the batteries will still be dead after a while because it's not turned off at all - it's on standby, waiting for the signal to turn on. The good old switch would really be much better. Bottom line: you'll have to buy a lot of lithium coin cell batteries if you want to keep using them after the first week or two. Make sure you recycle all those batteries and don't just throw them in the trash/landfill/groundwater/tap water!
