Fun to experiment with with this little arepa maker!

I love this machine. It heats up quickly and whatever you put in it cooks evenly and well. I love making arepas and have found that I can give them a pretty face by brushing the ball of dough very lightly with olive oil before putting it in the machine. Fifteen to eighteen minutes is ideal for them to cook and get a golden brown color. Considering I used to pan fry them for a nice color and then baked them in the oven at 375 degrees for almost half an hour, it's a time saver and the results are really good; Crispy on the outside, smoky and creamy on the inside. Cut up arepas and stuff them with cheese, eggs, meat, tomatoes and whatever, and they make a great snack or meal. These arepas are smaller than the English muffins I usually make, but it just gives me license to eat two instead of one! I made scrambled eggs in a coffee maker, they are nice and round and perfect for sliced arepa along with melted jack pepper cheese. It turns out a delicious, satisfying and satisfying quick breakfast. I also put the bread dough I filled with caramelized onion cheese in the oven and it bakes beautifully in 15 minutes. Toasted on the outside, fried on the inside with heavenly melting cheese. Delicious. Cleaning is very easy, just wipe with a damp cloth, nothing sticks. When the cheese burst out of one of the filled loaves I had baked and browned in a small indentation, it slid out immediately when I brought a damp paper towel to it. It's cute, well made, and small enough to fit in the rather limited space I have at home. Good, because I use this thing all the time and I don't want to put it down. I sent this to some of my friends as a birthday present and received mine from them on Monday 5th August 2013 for my birthday. We exchanged ideas and had fun comparing records. Haven't tried empanada adapters yet but know they will be just as fun. I wholeheartedly recommend this Holstein 2-in-1 Multimaker. It's fast, fun, inspires creativity and really worth it!
