Must-have backpack for hiking Daypacks

We have a lot of drybags, we are avid kayakers and very active people but we have never had a drypack. We chose this bag because it was in our price range and from the description it looked and sounded solid. We were a bit nervous because it wasn't cheap and we wondered how well made it was. When we received it we were very impressed with the feel, the stitching is very nice and has some sort of seal over it. We packed it up right away (because we were already on our way) and were amazed at how much fits in. We spent a week in Utah, played at Lake Powell and then went through The Narrows. If you've ever been there there are some deep spots so you have to swim to the other side so it was a real test, IS IT WATERPROOF? We're both crossing our fingers because cell phones have keyless entry keys inside. With a backpack on my husband's back he came in, the backpack was completely submerged when he swam through, on the other hand one day we opened it up to see if water had gotten in. Completely waterproof as advertised. We are very glad we bought this backpack and we use it all the time, even on day walks in the rain.
