Review on Adjusting Eyeglasses Spectacle Assembling Repairing by Matt Pratt

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Very poor build quality makes them unusable.

The staff at my eyewear store cannot adjust my nose pads and I am tired of repeated visits. So I decided to ask them what the pliers are called and ordered a few to solve the problem myself. If I remember correctly, I picked these because they were labeled "Revane's Choice" and had a good percentage of positive reviews. The problems were so severe that I refused to let them touch my glasses. Even with a simple visual inspection, it was obvious that they were much rougher than they appear on the product page. The pockmarks and the like were covered with pincers. The planes in the jaws were not smooth, and there were notches on their surface. Despite this rough finish, the overall build quality was just as I expected. apart from two obvious physical problems. First, the pliers were assembled upside down, which isn't too bad in terms of operation, but somehow speaks to the level of quality. They have controls at the factory. The small channel where the nose stop holder rests was on the opposite side as shown in the picture. The second problem resides in the work done to create the working area of the handpiece. The U-shaped notch was much farther from the tips than shown in the figure. The notch also seems much smaller, too small for my nose pads. And the small hole drilled in the tip of the pliers was off to the side, maybe a fraction of a millimeter. That's not much, but it becomes a real problem when you're working in tight spaces. In addition, it was not only shifted, but also drilled into the tip at an angle. I tell you, overcome these. And possibly any other couple like her. If they look the same, chances are they are all made in the same factory and have similar or more serious problems.

Pros
  • Especially suitable for soft silicone pads and Active Air nose pads
Cons
  • No automatic
