These didn't last long and I wouldn't buy them again.

I mounted them and tightened them as much as possible. When I cut off the protruding rod, the tie came loose and I couldn't get it to work again. This happened on 3 out of 4 rods. I wouldn't buy them again.

  • Still satisfied

Works as expected, good quality.

Got it and installed it on my aluminum radiator the next day. Worked as expected and replaced old worn out rod mounts on my slim fan. There is no vibration when the fan is on, so all I can say is that it works. Will come back if I need another set.

Ease of installation. Good workmanship.

Install a Spal fan with these plastic sticks. It lasts about a month with no problems. Easy threading through coil and heatsink. Just use a gentle touch and roll the posts back and forth for an easy pass. It will find its way - don't push too hard or you could damage the coil/heatsink. Highly recommended. Good quality. Not great quality but good price.

Derale Plastic Rod Mount Kit

Excellent choice for fan mounting - long zip ties run right through the transmission cooler and radiator - offers the ability to disable battery grounding so fans don't run while hands in are nearby. I found that due to the limited area of the fan, it is very difficult to cut the ends of the screed - I heated the hacksaw blade and simply melted the excess screed protruding through the radiator. Delivered quickly and at a very good price - easy to use.

Comfortable but expensive

Comfortable, makes work easier, but ridiculously overpriced. I had to reinstall a detachable fan on my dirt bike and used it to keep the fan housing flush with the radiator. Instead I used 2 zip ties and 2 1" roofing nail cups. I routed 1 zip tie through the cup, through the bodywork, through the radiator fin. On the other side of the radiator I skipped another cup, then trimmed and just the head of the second Tie used to tighten everything I can make a hundred homemade mounts for the price of…

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Lots of reviews on similar products showed they didn't hold up so I was hesitant to order but was pleasantly relieved to find that they hold up very well. I had to install the fan on a dyno I built to test the motors I built and run them before selling them to customers and the cooler I used wasn't new. I initially had a hard time pushing the plastic rods through as they met a lot of resistance, but I found that a small metal rod threaded through the first made installation easier. Dad's tackle

VS Hayden Automotive 210

Needed more than four, didn't know which was better, this one or Hayden 210. Bought both and compared. In comparison to the Hayden 210 I award these 4 stars. They are both similar in quality and both seem to work well. The difference was the size of the disk and the end of the plastic rod. Both come with foam pads (the pads that came with the Derale were stiffer than the Hayden, but that doesn't matter, both were the same size), but it depends on how much surface area the disc or bar has…
