The picture is excellent, very clean and clear with nice colors. This is a huge improvement over composite cables - no more blurry text! You can really see the difference in person. However, it is obvious how cheaply these cords are made. I'm very careful with my electronics, but one of them broke right away. I pushed the console lightly against the wall to hide the cable (which is pretty flimsy) and the piece that connects to the PS2 shattered. The case can be snapped back on, but it can't be salvaged as the wires just completely detached. I connected the second cable and it works fine (for now). but I feel like I have to be very careful not to push or pull anything lest it break. Using this product is like walking on eggshells. I should get the best version if I can afford it. Very frustrating and inconvenient because I have both PS2 and PS3 and need cables for both. I think I'll just go with an HDMI cable for my PS3, but I don't have to. If you are looking for an affordable option these cables are probably fine, just handle them carefully as they are fragile. Make sure the PS2 output is set to Y/Pb/Pr and make sure you connect each color in the correct order from top to bottom (ie the red connector on top should be connected first). If you only get picture with no sound or vice versa, the problem may be that you put the connectors in the wrong order.
