We've had very bad spikes and spikes for months and I'm in, two very expensive Apple Extreme routers have burned up as has my Macintosh computer and a few other items around our house. Despite the fact that all of my devices were plugged into outlets designed to provide protection from surges, my stuff was getting fried. My nephew is a military freak and an electrician and he told me to get this. It was easily installed by my electrician and now hangs on the wall in my garage on a service panel. The whole house is now protected, including my expensive air conditioner (a high-efficiency Trane heat pump) as well as my Chevrolt Volt, which is charged by a 240-volt charger in my garage. We've had a few thunderstorms since the electrician installed this and no more fried electronics. Although the neighbor told me that the last thunderstorm burned his TV here, we had no problems.
