I started updating the firmware to version 1.0.6.02. After setting up the wireless radios, the access point worked fine for a few hours. It was quick and I was happy. Then the problems started. The hotspot never worked for more than 12 hours, after which it had to be turned off and on again. The clients I have connected are 2 MacBook Pros, 3 iPhones (6, 5, 4s), 2 iPad Minis, iPad 2s, AppleTVs and PS3s. When the access point stopped responding to wireless clients, I tried to access the admin interface over a wired connection without success. The only way to get the device back online was to turn it on and off. The control logs didn't show anything interesting that would lead me to believe it's a firmware issue. The device got quite warm, so I was afraid of a lack of hardware. After a frustrating week of trying different configurations and constant reboots, I got it back. I am now using my 4 year old Time Capsule again. The Time Capsule isn't nearly as fast as the Linksys LAPAC1750PRO since it's only 802.11n, but it's extremely stable. I ordered a couple of Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO access points hoping for a better experience.
