Basically, we're in our van all the time. Of course, the thermostat is exactly in line with the window on the door! I've been using silver bubble wrap for a number of years but wanted something more flashy to block light and heat on hot summer days. This umbrella is very thick and well made. It didn't come with instructions, but that's pretty easy to put up with. Four velcro strips for the door, and the back of the lampshade sticks to it. I had to trim a bit, no big deal. This shade allows you to stack it if you want some light from the door, which is nice! It is also good that it does not have to be screwed into the door. Perfect for what we need. It's almost 90 degrees outside and the temperature inside has already dropped a degree in half an hour since I put them on.
