WOW. If I can grill Turkey cutlets in the Foodi Smart XL that are actually juicy, anyone can!

I'm not proud to say that my dog runs and hides every time I turn on the oven because he anticipates something burning and the smoke alarms going off, but it's true and the neighbors can vouch for that too. I had to find a way to cut down on the smoke alarms as well as the buying of expensive, pre-prepared, microwave meals. I researched online the best indoor grill and bought the Foodi Smart XL 6-in-1 because it has a "smart" thermometer, low-smoke grilling and an automatic shut off. When it arrived, the HUGE box was intimidating. But, once I got everything opened and cleaned, I modified a Teriyaki marinade and prepared two, fresh turkey breast cutlets for grilling. The preheat function worked exactly as the owners guide explained, and when the "smart" screen told me to "ADD FOOD," I did. I followed the guide to place the "smart" thermometer horizontally in the thickest part of the meat, and shut the lid. Within a few minutes the "smart" screen told me to "FLIP" the food, so I did, shut the lid again and looked at my dog for additional validation that these turkey cutlets already looked like they were cooking on an outside, charcoal grill and smelled absolutely delicious! Within a few minutes after that flip, the unit automatically stopped and displayed "GET FOOD" on the smart screen, and when I moved the cutlets to a plate, the smart screen started the "REST" countdown. When the "REST" period expired, I pulled out the smart thermometer and sliced up the turkey and WOW. Juicy. Tender. Tasty. I had intended on eating one cutlet for dinner and leaving the second one for lunch the next day, but alas, it was so delicious I ate both in one sitting and there were no scraps left for the dog either. This unit is large, about 1 1/2 times the size of an old-school waffle iron, but well worth the price and the space it takes up on my kitchen counter next to my stove (RIP). Can't wait to try the Air Fryer features!*Update* wow air crisp is easy too! I took Turkey breast filets and breaded them using Vegenaise and gluten free cracker crumbs, and they turned out perfectly, golden and crisp. Best purchase ever!

Pros
  • Love the new sleek design. It works fantastic. You are going to love this multi-purpose grill.
Cons
  • The non-stick coating may wear off prematurely, causing food to stick to the surface
