Review on Black/Silver Ninja EG201 Foodi 6-In-1 Grill: Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Broil, & Dehydrate - 2Nd Gen by Corey Soto

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Few minor drawbacks, but I am rather pleased with my purchase

Let me get the drawbacks out of the way first. You would think that you could change the temp in increments of something. Maybe 5°, maybe 10°. Instead, the air fryer setting goes from 400°-390°--375°-360°-350°. I have found that 390° is a bit too hot for a lot of things, but they could use a bit more than 375°. Well, unless I'm missing something, I'm out of luck! I see a lot of people recommending 380° for various air fryer recipes, which is obviously pretty close to 375°, but not exactly. A lot of those recipes end up needing to go back in the fryer for a bit when they are supposed to be finished. The second problem is that it doesn't quite seem to be as fast as some other air fryers, going by recommended settings I find online or on packages. If I go by the settings recommended either on the actual packaging or what people write online, the food is always underdone. Soggy, undercooked French fries and such. It is not that I am overloading it, it just isn't powerful enough for that. I tried maybe 20 fries, arranged in a single layer and not touching. Followed the package instructions for an air fryer, and they were soggy. However, I just put them back for a few more minutes and they were perfect. Since I know that I have to go a bit further on every recipe, it doesn't really matter now.The grill can take a while to pre-heat, but that's not much of a drawback. It has to get the whole thing hot without touching it, so that's understandable. It also it isn't the most intuitive control scheme in the world, but you'll get used to it.Now for the good! Everything works! You might be wondering why I'm so excited about a product actually functioning, but I have read so many reviews of various products breaking after 2 uses that I was worried about this thing doing the same. Well, I purchased this back on 3/17/22 and it is still working just fine on 7/21/22. Another reason this is great is that I use it basically every day. I work from home, and I am not the type to run to McDonald's every lunch. I run upstairs and toss something in this 4-5 times per week. Sometimes I use the grill and the temp probe, sometimes I just air fry something. It happily does it all without so much as an issue. I can make some really tasty things on my 45 minute "lunch" break (a break that happens at 5pm because of when I work) that I'd never be able to make in a regular oven. One of my favorite things to make is air fried chicken legs that I have let marinade overnight. Just stick the temp probe in the fattest leg, set it to chicken, flip it once, and that's it. They come out perfect every time.Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase.
