For a long time I chose speakers in this price segment. The choice was only based on reviews on the Internet. In our stores, they only let you listen if you are going to buy - in order to check the serviceability. On many channels of "audio reviewers" this brand seems to be trusted. Usually reviews do this - they usually buy columns of 3 different companies of the same type and approximately the same price and compare them with each other. So, no matter how much I looked at such comparisons, wherever edifier took part, they came out the winner. In this price segment (when I bought 12 thousand) there is no Edifier competition at all. Microlab, sven, creative, defender - plastic. I even bought a new table cover for them :) there was not enough space on the old table. So, about the minus: When connected via optics (S / PDIF), the speakers, when they do not receive a sound signal, instantly "fall asleep" and wake up with an unpleasant click. Here's an example, you're watching a video, you press pause, the speakers instantly fall asleep. You press play, there is a click. I was able to overcome this only by outputting the sound from them to a stereo mixer (roughly speaking, duplicating the sound on one of the connected devices) and selecting the "listen from this device" option. The sound quality in terms of optics is, of course, much better, to my inexperienced ears. But in the end, I still went back to the analog input ("mini-jack").
