Review on 🌬️ Enhanced Cooling Performance: Experience the ODROID XU4Q With Passive Heatsink by Adam Walsh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great jukebox based on Roon Bridge and/or Roon Server, works great with Ubuntu MATE

This is a Raspberry Pi 3 killer from a computational point of view. First. Paired with a 32GB eMMC module, it's in a whole different league for a slight price increase when you factor in the additional cost of investing in a 32GB eMMC module over a 32GB Samsung Evo+. good SD card. However, a nice heatsink is worth its weight in gold if every Raspberry Pi 3 has one. Many thanks to ODROID for offering a passive heatsink model at no extra cost. People pay $20 for this Raspberry Pi 3 heatsink. It doesn't have WiFi or BT, so the USB ports get eaten up quickly if you're using one or both. I decided to use Ethernet on both, but first tried using a USB WiFi and USB BT module in combination with a different USB connection. I was out of ports very quickly. A 4th USB port would be handy, but I'm not giving it a star for that. Speaker configurations (5.1 and 2.0) that I wanted to losslessly stream music to with Roon. I wanted it to perform the following tasks as a low power PC, driving all audio output through a USB DAC permanently connected to a source on the A/V receiver, which was possible with little effort. 1) Launch Ubuntu MATE with a Logitech K400 Wireless Keyboard/Touchpad.2) Launch Chrome (not Chromium) with enough "oompf" to work with 4-6 tabs and YouTube.3) Launch one USB-DAC (Schiit modes 2) to process the sound audiophile4) Serve Roon Bridge with the option to later run Roon Server on it. All 4 objectives are met and he serves passively as a Roon Bridge but actively as a "Put your feet back while sitting on the couch" while surfing the network while listening. to lossless music on speakers connected to your A/V receiver. Will be buying a few more for other projects around the house. Keep it up ODROID. I bought the C2 to use as a LibreELEC box with 4K/H265 support and it works perfectly.
