My home office has an oriental rug on a hardwood floor, which kind of limits my options for a desk chair mat. But I definitely need one, and the one I'd been using was too small, so the chair wheels would venture off it most of the time, and the mat would shift all the time.This mat is about the same thickness, but it's larger and has a lip to fit under the desk. I have to position it at something of an angle to clear the sides of the desk, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest.Highly recommended if you have a flat rug over a hardwood floor or pretty much any hard flooring surface.
