I have a metal supported palm rest - it works well but I can't type easily or do other things. I use it when I sleep and need something to use during the day when I have to work. I bought this and another that has even less support. I like both, although they are very different. This allows me to go about my daily activities while still providing moderate support. This prevents me from bending my wrist too much, which prevents a pinched nerve. Exactly what I needed. It's more restrictive than some braces, though, so I'm glad I bought a Yasco brace that just wraps around my wrist. This makes typing even easier. So at the moment I'm switching between them depending on how much mobility I need. If for some reason you need to keep your fingers straight (I also have two trigger fingers) this won't work. It's clean for your wrist.
